Online Therapy to Improve Your Confidence and Self esteem
online Therapy in sydney for Women Struggling with Confidence
therapy for self-esteem is about Empowering You to Feel Seen, Strong, and Self-Assured
At Connect 2 Health Psychology, we specialise in supporting women and those who are culturally and racially marginalised to navigate low self-esteem, cultural pressures, and personal doubt. You are not alone—and therapy can help you reclaim your voice, confidence, and emotional well-being.
I am passionate about helping individuals thrive with online therapy to improve confidence and self-esteem. Self-esteem struggles can hinder your personal and professional growth, and regardless of whether that be caused by significant life changes, such as losing abilities after a stroke, or long-standing issues rooted in early life experiences, these challenges can affect relationships, mental health, career progression, and decision-making.
Addressing these struggles takes time, but my goal is to help you understand the root causes and how they impact your ability to achieve realistic goals.
If you feel your confidence is holding you back, I encourage you to take the first step toward breaking through these barriers. Together, we can unlock your full potential and work toward achieving your aspirations. Contact us for specialised psychological therapy to improve your confidence in Sydney.
What Is Low Confidence?
Low confidence means not feeling very sure about yourself or what you can do. People with low self esteem often hold negative thoughts about their abilities, even when they are smart or capable.
It’s normal to feel unsure sometimes, but if someone feels this way a lot, it can stop them from feel good or enjoy life. Low confidence can come from being criticised a lot, comparing yourself to others, or going through tough experiences.
The good news is that there are ways of improving your self esteem and build confidence with a range of psychological approaches such as cognitive behaviour therapy and schema therapy. With realistic goals, support, practice, and changing your thought patterns anyone can build health self esteem in the long term.
Do you experience low self esteem?
- Constant negative self talk, criticism, or perfectionism
- Feeling "not enough" despite achievements
- Pressure to meet family or cultural expectations
- Difficulty setting boundaries or saying "no"
- Comparing yourself to others or feeling invisible
- Fear of judgment or “losing face”
Common habits lowering your confidence
- Setting yourself up to a high standard and criticising yourself harshly when you don't meet them
- Thinking that others will think you are mean or rude if you speak up for yourself
- Minimising your skills and achievements, whilst maximising those of others
- Focusing on the negatives of a situation too much
- Automatically thinking that things will fail before you even start
- You might look at other people and think they’re better than you. But you’re only seeing part of their story—not everything they struggle with.
Why Confidence Can Be Hard to Build
For many women, confidence is often shaped by a lifetime of being told to be quiet, accommodating, or “perfect.”
For some, cultural norms around humility, sacrifice, and success can create internal pressure. You may feel torn between honouring your culture and honouring yourself.
Therapy helps you find your voice without losing your values. Together, we explore what confidence looks like for you—on your terms.

Can psychological therapy improve My confidence and self esteem?
While each individual’s experiences are unique, Schema Therapy can help to address lifelong confidence issues. It focuses on identifying problematic thought patterns and coping habits. These patterns come from unmet needs in childhood and can worsen over time. The goal of Schema Therapy is to gradually weaken these patterns and replace them with healthier, more healthy ways of thinking and responding. This process can be both transformative and emotionally rewarding.
At Connect 2 Health Psychology, we offer a culturally sensitive approach designed to support both individual growth and cultural context.
