Fees Schedule for Clinical Psychology
At Connect 2 Health Psychology, we are transparent with our fees. We care about quality as well as affordable mental health support. The standard telehealth session via video or phone (50 mins) is charged at $220. If you are referred by your GP under the Medicare Mental Health Treatment Plan, you can receive a rebate of $137 towards up to 10 sessions per calendar year, therefore the out of pocket cost becomes a low $83.
The standard fee of $220 is well below $280, which the APS National Schedule of Recommended Fees (2022-2023) recommends for a 35-60 mins consultaton.
Connect 2 Health Psychology utilises a third party payment system. As such, there are fees charged on top of your consultation fee. The fees are currently 1.75% plus ($0.30).
Please be assured that Connect 2 Health Psychology really takes privacy of information very seriously and this is why we use a third party payment system. Prior to your first session and whenever you change your details, a payment link from this system is sent, which will allow you to directly input your payment details. These details are stored and encrypted on a secure platform and is processed at least 24 hours prior to your future sessions, or when cancellation fees apply. When details are entered this way, Connect 2 Health Psychology are unable to see your full payment details.
If you require any letters or report writing, please let us know. Such services may not be available and will be based on timelines, expectations/purpose, and the level of skill required to complete. Please enquire if this is what you need.
Please note that Connect 2 Health Psychology does not provide medico-legal services.
Cancellation Fees and Policy:
- If you need to re-schedule your session, please give us at least 48 hours notice in order to avoid a late cancelation fee. This will allow us to offer the session to someone else
- If you cancel your session within 24-48 hours of your session, a late cancellation fee which is equal to 50% of your session fee may apply
- If you cancel your session with less than 24 hours notice or do not show up, 100% of the session fee may apply
Medicare Rebates
Those who are reporting symptoms of a mental health disorder, are able to receive rebates of $137.05 for up to 10 standard sessions per calendar year. Please note:
- To be eligible, you must be referred by your GP under the GP Mental Health Treatment Plan
- In some instances, you can obtain a referral from a Psychiatrist as part of the Psychiatrist Assessment and Management Plan
- Rebates are only applicable for a list of approved treatments. You are not able to claim rebates for particular services such as report writing, case conferences, couples counselling, or anything medico-legal related
- Although Connect 2 Health Psychology makes every effort to claim your rebate for you immediately after the session, there may be instances where your rebate is not able to be processed. In such cases, Connect 2 Health Psychology will inform you of this, but this will not be known until after the session has occurred. As such it will be your responsibility to follow up with Medicare, and Connect 2 Health Psychology will not be liable and cannot fully guarantee that you will receive your rebate in every instance
You don't need a Referral
You do not need a referral to see a Psychologist, however, if you do want want to receive a Medicare rebate, you do need to get a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan. Connect 2 Health Psychology encourages people to be empowered and make decisions around their treatment and care.
Private Health and Other Funding
You are welcome to claim your sessions with other funding bodies. Connect 2 Health Psychology will provide you with a receipt. Please note:
- Private Health: You will need to check how much you are entitled to claim with your private health insurance policy
- WorkCover: Connect 2 Health Psychology is not registered with WorCover
- NDIS: Connect 2 Health Psychology is not registered for NDIS. However, those on a self managed plan are able to pay for their sessions and then be re-imbursed by their plan manager
